Meet Amy Combs, OD — Now Seeing Patients in Jacksboro!
There’s a new face at Associates in Eye Care in Jacksboro, and she brings decades of experience, compassion, and energy to our team. We’re proud to welcome Amy Combs, OD, as the newest member of our AEC family!
Born and raised in Knoxville, TN, Dr. Combs spent over 20 years away from home serving in the U.S. Army and practicing optometry in the Washington D.C. area. Her love for science and healthcare, combined with a deep desire to serve the community, led her into the field of optometry—and she hasn’t looked back since.
Dr. Combs holds degrees in both Biology and Foreign Languages from the University of Memphis and completed her optometry training at the Southern College of Optometry. She has a special interest in dry eye disease and comprehensive family eye care, and she’s passionate about helping patients feel better and see better—especially when they’re dealing with irritating symptoms or chronic issues.
Now back in East Tennessee, Dr. Combs says she was drawn to the down-to-earth, welcoming nature of Jacksboro. “I loved the small town and sweet, funny, down-to-earth people,” she says. “It already feels like home.”
Combs brings a strong foundation of experience, kindness, and leadership. She’s excited to meet you and continue the tradition of excellent eye care in the community.
When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find Dr. Combs hiking, biking, gardening, reading, or volunteering at one of several local organizations, including Zoo Knoxville and Remote Area Medical. She’s also the current President of the East Tennessee Optometric Society and brings research experience from participating in FDA clinical trials.
We’re thrilled to have her on board. Come meet Dr. Combs at your next appointment and experience the same great care you’ve come to expect from Associates in Eye Care.
